Juicy hamburg steak

This hamburger patty is one of my favourite recipes. It's easy to make and I always store them in the freezer to save some time to prepare dinner. Today's dish is one way of using this patty. Be creative! You can make as many dishes as you like!

Ingredients (serve 2)

  • 120g minced beef
  • 120g minced pork
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp red, white or mixed miso
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil

Method:

  1. Combine everything together (except for oil) in a big bowl until the mixture gets sticky and a whitish colour.
  2. Shape it round or oval and flatten with hands to get rid of air from the patty.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Cook the patty one side in medium heat. When it gets brown, flip it and cook the other side. (Do not try to flatten with a spatula while cooking, or you'll lose all the tasty juice!)
  4. Put cooked rice on a plate with the hamburg, cannellini beans and fresh vegetables topped with Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise.

Note:

If the patty starts to burn, turn down the heat after you flip it to cook the other side. Another way is to add 1-2 tbsp of water(white wine or sake if you have!). Cover with a lid and steam with low heat until the meat is cooked.
